You may
be reading this information after an inspirational sighting of your
first Gypsy Vanner Horse. We understand because our curiosity and love
for this wonderful breed began to blossom at our very first encounter.
 |
The
2001 Minnesota Horse Expo introduced us to young Misto (shown at left)
and his owner, Collette Morgan. Collette shared the story of the Gypsy
Vanner Horses and showed us a Breyer Horse model and Horse Feathers
calendar featuring the stallion named The Gypsy King. We were awestruck
by the appearance of the horses, fascinated by the story of the Gypsies,
and compelled by the journey being undertaken by the Thompsons at Gypsy
Gold to introduce this breed to America.
Soon thereafter, we had the opportunity to visit Gypsy Gold, meet their
beautiful horses, and hear the incredible history of the Gypsy Vanner
Horse. Dennis and Cindy's passion was contagious and we knew we wanted
to be a part of the dream.

We are
now proud owners of about half a dozen of these glorious creatures. We
have several beautiful brood mares, our oustanding stallion, Bommarito
(son of The Gypsy King) and two foals due this year.
Vintage Vanners is proud to be the first breeder of Registered Gypsy
Vanner Horses in Minnesota. We are committed to doing our best to
preserve the unique characteristics of this breed of beautiful and
gentle creatures that were so carefully bred to become integral members
of their gypsy families. |
